Sunrise and Sunset Babies Twin Loss Sympathy Card

❤️ SUNRISE AND SUNSET BABIES ❤️

Sometimes joy and heartbreak arrive together, and I wrote this card for one of the hardest circumstances a parent can face – when twins are born but, heartbreakingly, only one gets to stay.

The idea behind Sunrise and Sunset Babies came from those two very different moments. The sunrise represents the beginning of a precious new life, while the sunset represents the little one whose life ended far too soon.

My original rhyming verse doesn’t forget either baby. It recognises the grief for the little one who was lost while also acknowledging the love, hope and joy that remain with the baby who survived.

For me, that was particularly important when writing this card. One baby’s life should never diminish the loss of the other, just as grief should never take away the love and happiness a surviving baby brings.

The final lines bring those two little lives back together:

“And although your twins are parted and one has wings to soar
you’ll keep them close within your heart,
together ever more.”

The card has been redesigned as a large luxury 8 x 8 inch card, with beautiful sunrise and sunset imagery in warm gold, peach and soft blue tones surrounding my original verse.

There are some circumstances where finding a card that truly understands what a family is going through can be incredibly difficult.

This isn’t simply a card about loss, because alongside unimaginable grief there is also a precious little life to love and celebrate.

I wanted my words to make room for both.
